Our Vision
† Our Vision is to build a church family where the members are in loving relationship with God and each other within an environment of order, participation and accountability.
† Our Vision is to teach sound, biblical, life-giving doctrine based on the Scriptural revelation of what Jesus said and did, and to propagate his doctrine through our teaching and living.
† We want to reach out to others, both corporately and individually outside of the congregational setting, to bring them into relationship with Jesus Christ and to teach them basic principles of the Kingdom of God, and to then release them to go and do likewise for others.
† We embrace the work of the Holy Spirit and depend on His anointing for life and ministry whilst avoiding manipulative or psychic methods and practices.
† Our long-term vision is to extend the Kingdom of God by establishing inter-dependent but autonomous local churches founded on the principles presented in the book of Acts.
Statement of Faith
These things we believe and hold to be true:
God
† That there is but one God, a personal conscious Being, Creator of all things seen and unseen, eternal (without beginning or end) as three distinct Persons: the Father, the Word, and Holy Ghost.
† That the Word became flesh, and was born of the virgin Mary, henceforth to be known as the only begotten Son of God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: Who lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and rose again, We hold that Jesus will return soon to establish His kingdom.
The Bible
† That the Bible is the all sufficient, inspired and infallible Word of God.
† That Scripture can only be interpreted by Scripture under the direction of the Holy Ghost.
† That the Bible is for Christ’s followers the only authoritative and infallible rule of faith, practice, doctrine, daily living and church administration, and the final standard by which all creeds, doctrines and actions must be measured.
Salvation
† That mankind and creation is in a fallen and sinful state, and every human soul is in desperate need of redemption from the fearful penalty of sin: everlasting separation from God in eternal perdition.
† It is impossible for man to justify himself before a perfect God.
† We believe in salvation through the New Birth by repentance from dead works and faith towards God alone, as the only provision for man's sin.
† We hold that Jesus took our sin upon Himself on the Cross of Calvary and gave us His righteousness and we must personally accept His offer of forgiveness and remain faithful to Him on the basis of scripture.
Church
† That there is but one true Church consisting of all from every denomination who have truly been born again.
† The Church finds its expression in local, area bound, assemblies each of these to be autonomous, under the headship of Christ and the care of local elders.
† We believe the gifts of the Spirit, including charismatic gifts, continue to operate in the church. However, we reject any form of charismatic or Pentecostal extremism, and reject totally any form of tradition-based or experiential theology.
† We yearn for the unity of the Spirit, such unity seen as with other Bible-based evangelical Christians, churches, and ministries – even where we may not share all of the same nonessential doctrines.
† However we reject - as a false unity - ecumenicism or unity with any form of non-evangelical versions of Christianity, having a different doctrine of salvation and a basis of doctrinal authority other than the Bible.
Future Things
† We believe in the catching away (Rapture) of the saints and the bodily second return of Christ after which He will establish His millennial kingdom
Our Leaders
We operate under the headship of Jesus Christ and are led by elders and deacons. Anton Bosch is our teaching elder.
Anton Bosch
Privileged to be born into a long line of preachers, Anton Bosch met the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour in 1968. In 1971 he entered the Theological College of South Africa for two years, completed the third year by correspondence and was awarded the Diploma in Theology. In 2001 he earned the degree BTh(hons) and in 2005 he was awarded the degree Master in Theology cum laude. The title of his dissertation was “The pastoral and practical principles on which the churches in the New Testament are based”
From 1973 to 1997 years he served with the Assemblies of God in seven different congregations in South Africa. He also travelled widely ministering throughout Southern-Africa conducting seminars and as a guest speaker in various churches.
In 1997 he left the denomination and established Plumbline Ministries. He continues to minister regularly in churches throughout Africa and the United States. Plumbline's tape and written ministry reaches to all parts of the world. In addition Anton is in daily contact with believers and leaders across the globe via the Internet. This new medium has been of great help to leaders and believers in remote parts who are not able to be in regular contact with other Bible-believing Christians.
Anton established several autonomous churches in South Africa. and in 2003 he was elected to the board of the International Fellowship of Christian Believers (formerly OFFI) with responsibility for the African continent and in 2004 was asked to serve as it’s international president. At the end of 2003 he was called to assist Burbank Community Church (Los Angeles, California) as it’s senior pastor. In 2008 he led the church through the move from Burbank to Sun Valley, where he is currently based.
It has been his life-long quest to rediscover New Testament Christianity and to call Christians and churches back to knowing, believing and living the Bible. He has planted a number of churches that are based on these principles. He is passionate about a correct exegesis of the Word and specialises in expository preaching and teaching.
Missions
Our involvement in missions has three legs:
† Reaching out to the lost in our own community
† Spiritual support of believers and leaders in other countries
† Practical ministries to the underprivileged
Spiritual support of believers and leaders in other countries
We provide spiritual support, teaching and guidance to many churches, leaders and individual believers across the world. We do this mainly through the medium of the International Fellowship of Christian Believers and through the following programs:
† We run conferences and seminars to equip pastors for ministry in the various third-world countries as well as in the USA.
† Our senior pastor is in daily contact with people across the world via e-mail. He uses this medium to support believers and leaders who are geographically, theologically or socially isolated.
† Our devotional articles reach across the globe and minister to several thousand people on every continent, every week.
† Tapes and CDs of our teachings are distributed internationally.
† We operate a couple of websites that contain a wealth of teaching and ministry which is used by many churches as a basis of their own ministry.
