Anton Bosch
Privileged to be born into a long line of preachers, Anton Bosch met the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour in 1968. In 1971 he entered the Theological College of South Africa for two years, completed the third year by correspondence and was awarded the Diploma in Theology. In 2001 he earned the degree BTh(hons) and in 2005 he was awarded the degree Master in Theology cum laude. The title of his dissertation was “The pastoral and practical principles on which the churches in the New Testament are based”
From 1973 to 1997 years he served with the Assemblies of God in seven different congregations in South Africa. He also travelled widely ministering throughout Southern-Africa conducting seminars and as a guest speaker in various churches.
In 1997 he left the denomination and established Plumbline Ministries. He continues to minister regularly in churches throughout Africa and the United States. Plumbline's tape and written ministry reaches to all parts of the world. In addition Anton is in daily contact with believers and leaders across the globe via the Internet. This new medium has been of great help to leaders and believers in remote parts who are not able to be in regular contact with other Bible-believing Christians.
Anton established, is in fellowship with, and operates under the oversight of Word of Truth Church which is a local church in Pietermaritzburg, in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Word of Truth Church and Plumbline Ministries are part of a group of autonomous churches and ministries with international links. These churches form a loose association which recognises the autonomy of each local fellowship and yet have common goals and values. Ministry is shared between these churches and those who are in ministry hold one another accountable to the Word of God.
In 2003 he was elected to the board of the International Fellowship of Christian Believers (formerly OFFI) with responsibility for the African continent and in 2004 was asked to serve as it’s international president. At the end of 2003 he was called to assist Burbank Community Church (Los Angeles, California) as it’s senior pastor where he is currently based.
It has been his life-long quest to rediscover New Testament Christianity and to call Christians and churches back to knowing, believing and living the Bible. He has planted a number of churches that are based on these principles. He is passionate about a correct exegesis of the Word and specialises in expository preaching and teaching.
